HOUSING PASSES A MILESTONE
The U.S. finally has moved beyond attention-grabbing predictions from housing "experts" that housing is bottoming. The numbers are now convincing, according to David Wessel on The News Hub.

30-YEAR MORTGAGES FALL BELOW 3.5%
Long-term mortgage rates continue to fall to new record lows, with the average rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage falling below 3.5 percent for the first time ever.

HEALTH-CARE REFORM LAW CONTAINS SURTAX THAT CAN AFFECT HOME SALES
When the Supreme Court upheld the health-care reform law on federal tax grounds, it restoked a housing issue that had been relatively quiet for the past year: The alleged "real estate tax" on home sales buried in the legislation.
